Oh, but she’s still a good person, right?


She’s not. She might be your friend, and you might be able to forgive her for her slip, but I would suggest you wait for the moment when she actually sucks it up and owns her own mistake. Was it stupid? Yes. Was it racist? Yes. Does she deserve to be treated as a horrible person who should never lead anything ever again? Until she can prove that she owns, acknowledges and learns from her mistakes, absolutely yes.

What upsets me most about this is that we have a local group of a political party that is so much more interested in covering its ass than doing the right thing for the people they want to lead. It has reached the level of epidemic in this country, and there’s only one cure: good people standing up for the right thing, even when it means they stand alone against the mob.

Come on, people, it’s time to stand up.

    Not sure who “she” is, but it doesn’t matter. Doing the right thing is always the right thing to do.
